Livingston Arts Association Announces 2022 Fall Lineup of Classes

FALL ART CLASSES

WHEN: an eleven-week course running from September 19 through December 10. Classes will be held Monday through Friday mornings, 9:30 a.m. to Noon and afternoons from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. with evening classes on Tuesday from 7:15 to 9:45 pm and Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 pm.
WHERE: Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue, Livingston
FEE: A fee will be charged, and registration is required.

To register, all forms and checks must be sent to Vivian Laska, 1613 Gates Court, Morris Plains, NJ 07950. Checks must be received in order to register for class.

Classes will be offered in oil, acrylics, watercolor, drawing, abstracts and mixed media abstracts and a new addition, integrated mixed media.

Our faculty includes 

• Laurie Harden teaching Portraiture and Figure Drawing, as well as Oil, Pastel and Acrylics on Monday and Thursday mornings and afternoons. 
• Mark de Dos teaching Watercolor, Pastel and Drawing on Tuesday morning, afternoon and evening and Wednesday afternoon. 
• Evan Stuart Marshall teaching Mixed Media Abstract on Thursday evening and Friday morning. 
• Tim Maher teaching Acrylic, Oil and Drawing on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
• Barbara Sax teaching Integrated Mixed Media.

We are delighted to announce the addition of Barbara Sax to our esteemed group of teachers. Barbara is an award-winning artist and teacher with over 40 years’ experience. She has a BA and MA in education from Montclair State University, working in public schools in Roseland, Maplewood and Livingston and teaching privately in NJ and Florida. She has also taught art at Cranes Mill in West Caldwell, as well as being a former docent at the Montclair Art Museum. Barbara has assisted the YMCA to develop and implement diversity projects and classes for the disabled as well as working with the Livingston Youth and Community Services (LYCS) for 8 years. She presently serves on the ACL Gallery board and is the current President of the Arts Council of Livingston.

“Art is an outlet for emotion and a reaction to events in life and environment. It is fluid and always changing. Process is a priority in my work”, said Barbara.

Our Junior Classes for 1st through 5th grades on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons will be taught by Carol Lynn Nellen. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Students are Welcome.

Livingston Arts Association, Inc., is dedicated to giving class lessons, to giving members the opportunity to display works in shows, and to providing demonstrations and critiques from professional artists as well as providing scholarships to Livingston High School Seniors. Artists of all levels are welcome to participate in all events.
