Art Meets Jazz is a jazz performance series
held in partnership between the Montclair Art Museum and
the African American Cultural Committee (AACC). This
performance series delivers an annual organic program,
highlighting the talent of local jazz musicians and often
includes other artistic elements such as dance, spoken
word, or exhibition. This year's event will feature jazz vocalist Carla Cook and her trio. Carla will perform a
selection of original compositions, as well as renditions
of classic songs in the genre. Cook has an improvisational
style steeped in the swing tradition yet eclectic and
brimming with fresh interpretations, earning her a
Grammy nomination for her debut album "It's All About
Love."
This year's Art Meets Jazz is happy to be in
collaboration with the Montclair Jazz Festival. During the
cocktail reception, you can enjoy snacks of wine and cheese
while listening to the talents of Jazz House Kids. Click here
