Auditions? Performances? YES! Here's what is in store for August and September   Auditions Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 7:00 PM   The Book of Will is a charming, funny play about the friends of Shakespeare who were determined to gather his plays into published form before they were lost to time. If it had not been for them, we would not know Shakespeare like we do today. Just take a look at this cast of characters: HENRY CONDELL—40s; feisty friend and actor in the King’s Men. ELIZABETH CONDELL—Henry’s wife, savvy and fun. JOHN HEMINGES—50's-60s; financial manager of the King's Men REBECCA HEMINGES—John’s wife, a good wife. ALICE HEMINGES—30s, John’s daughter, runs the Globe Tap House with her father. RICHARD BURBAGE—50s-60s; seasoned lion of the stage, famous across England, boisterous and fierce. BEN JONSON—Poet laureate of England, friend/rival of Shakespeare. ED KNIGHT—Manager for the King’s Men. RALPH CRANE—Humble scrivener of the King’s Men. Shy and quiet. WILLIAM JAGGARD—Successful publisher ISAAC JAGGARD—William’s son MARCUS— printer at the Jaggard print shop. COMPOSITOR—Works at the Jaggard print shop. EMILIA BASSANO LANIER— fiery Italian feminist and poet ANNE HATHAWAY SHAKESPEARE—60s, Shakespeare’s now ailing wife. SUSANNAH SHAKESPEARE—30s, daughter of Shakespeare.   Performances We Have Them First Up:     Only 2 performances August 13 at 8 pm August14 at 2 pm     ...and then, An evening of live music What kind?   Folk? probably. Rock? Maybe. Gregorian Chants? Doubtful. But whatever it is, the excitement is high. You see, this evening is not only a way to have a great night out, but it is also a fundraiser for CTG's 'black box productions.'       So, you may ask yourself, "Why is there a fundraiser for Black Box?" Good question. Because they are the ones bringing the unique and powerful drama, BENT to Chester's stage from September 8 - 11.     As you can see, much is happening. Come and audition.
