BONJ 2022 SUMMER FESTIVAL TO FEATURE MEXICAN PIANIST PATRICIO APAEZ

 


 


 

 

Mexican Pianist Patricio Apaez

Special Guest for 2022 Summer Festival Opening Concert

 

The Festival opens on Sunday, July 17, at 4:00 PM at The Madison Community Arts Center, 10 Kings Road, Madison, New Jersey.

 

Patricio Apaez, born in Mexico City, displayed a deep interest in classical music at a very young age. He was accepted at the Interlochen Arts Academy, a renowned music program for high school students in the U.S. Patricio attended Ball State University in Indiana for his B.A in piano performance.

 

Following his graduation, Patricio transitioned to New York, studying privately under Ronn Yedidia at the NY Piano Academy, where he earned a position as Assistant Faculty.

 

His awards include 1st prizes at the MAMTG, Golden Classical Music Awards Competition & The Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition along with a performance at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall in 2018. 

 

He holds a Master's Degree in Piano Performance from the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College where he studied with Jeffrey Biegel.

 

Currently, Patricio serves as Teaching Artist & Director of Student Services at Keys 2 Success.

 

The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey is honored to present Patricio in concert as soloist for Franz Joseph Haydn's exciting and beautiful Piano Concerto in D.

 

Like last summer, the concert is free (donations welcome).

 

The concert will have limited indoor seating but will be fully open for outdoor seating as well—so bring a lawn chair and enjoy the summer with great music.

 

The concert will also feature music by George M. Cohan, Giovanni Gabrieli, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Pachelbel, and Antonio Vivaldi.

 

Following the concert, enjoy dinner at one of the nearby great Madison restaurants, just a few blocks walk from the arts center.

For the first time, The BONJ Summer Music Festival will be spread out over the summer. The 2022 Summer Festival will feature two orchestra concerts, a new music concert, a cabaret, and a symposium.

 

The Festival will feature a special symposium on Saturday, July 23, at 2:00 PM in collaboration with Morristown National Historical Park at Washington's Headquarters Museum, 30 Washington Place, Morristown, New Jersey. On display will be a recently discovered letter from opera composer Richard Wagner to King Ludwig of Bavaria. The event will include a recital of Wagner arias with special guest Metropolitan Opera bass Harry Dworchak and talks by Dr. Jude Pfister and Maestro Butts.

New music will be featured on Sunday, July 31, at 4:00 PM at The Madison Community Arts Center, 10 Kings Road, Madison, New Jersey. New chamber music works by David WIlliams, Michael DeMaio, Robert W. Butts and others will be featured. All tickets: $20.

The popular BONJ Cabaret returns on Saturday, August 13, at 7:30 PM at Grace Hall, Grace Church, 4 Madison Ave., Madison, New Jersey. With cabaret seating and light refreshments (or feel free to bring your own), enjoy selections from Broadway, opera, and the Great American Songbook.

The Festival concludes with an orchestra concert on Sunday August 21, at 4:00 PM at The Madison Community Arts Center, 10 Kings Road, Madison, New Jersey. As before, the concert is free with donations welcome and will feature indoor seating and the opportunity to sit out on the lawn and enjoy the sounds of summer.
