Performing Patriotism: An Independence Day Celebration

WHEN:
Sunday, July 3, 2 PM. Light refreshments to follow.
WHERE: Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge

Erik and Eliza Lichak will be “Performing Patriotism” and bringing history to life through popular music listened to by our founding fathers.

The concert performance will take place inside the 18th-century farmhouse and art gallery at Farmstead Arts Center Basking Ridge, NJ.

For several years, Erik and Eliza (left) have been researching the sights and sounds of the late 18th century and faithfully recreating music, clothing, cosmetics, and hairstyles of the time period. To even further bring their audience into the past, they use a combination of reproduction and original musical instruments, music books, accessories, and more. All of the clothing worn is entirely correct to the represented era: from the hand-sewn top and inside seams to the way the garments are tailored; some of their clothing even use original or antique trims in order to best give an impression of our history.

The farmhouse is wheelchair accessible. Anyone anticipating the need for additional services please send an e-mail in advance to admin@farmsteadarts.org.

This event is made possible, in part, by funds from the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts
