"At Home with Poems" free from the Dodge Poetry Festival

You're invited to join At Home with Poems, a free online program brought to you by Dodge Poetry, running from July 18 - July 24. Participants will receive a daily e-mail bringing poetry, mindfulness and creativity straight to their inbox.

Whether you are a longtime poet or poetry lover, a teacher or student, or simply curious about poetry, At Home with Poems will offer you a refreshing take on engaging with poems and tending to your creativity.

Sign up to receive:

  • A curated packet of contemporary poetry
  • Activities for centering and grounding, and connecting with poems
  • Writing and journal prompts
  • Access to the Dodge Poetry Festival Video Library

You will also be invited to join our online Community space, where members connect with each other and engage in conversations with and about poetry. We'll post discussion topics throughout the week, and you can respond, share which poems are your favorite and why, reflect on the day's activities and prompts, and get to know each other.

Here are some reflections from past participants:

“I've always felt as if I couldn't understand the true meaning of a poem, or I was always missing something. Being able to just be with poetry made me realize that while some poems come easily, sometimes it just takes a few more reads to understand. Reading poetry inspired me to dabble in my own and it boosted my creativity and my mood. Having this as a daily practice...was more impactful than I can put into words. I'm truly grateful for this program, as I feel it sparked something in me. Thank you!”

“I was never one to read poetry but after this experience, I look forward to reading more poems.”

“You lifted my week and reasserted the importance of poetry in my life and therefore in the lives of those around me with whom I share poems and the news of the poetry world.  You have reinvigorated me in my job as a retired teacher to keep teaching what is important (poetry in life) to family, friends and my community.”
