Last weekend to see "Bright Star"!

Bright Star - The Summit Playhouse April 29 - May 15 2022

Final three performances!

Ruth Ross declares

“…Summit Playhouse’s ambitious production is a charming, toe-tapping, shining feast of masterful melodies that keep the action moving along and become a prominent story-telling device.”

“….Lynn Polan once again puts her directorial chops on full display, eliciting superb performances from 17 actors, whether they be in major or minor roles!”

“…this feisty and talented troupe of players does justice to the score and script to remind us that theatrical excellence resides in our midst.”

BroadwayWorld raves about Bright Star!

"Between the beautiful, but at times dark, story, the captivating songs and the talented cast and onstage band, it is imperative that you run to see this show before it's too late."

This buoyant musical tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the 1920s and 40s. With a fresh and lively score, this charming fable of lives torn apart and made whole again is sure to appeal to all ages.

Bright Star runs through MAY 15, 2022!

THE SUMMIT PLAYHOUSE AND HURRICANE IDA DAMAGE

The Summit Playhouse, along with many residents and businesses in our community, suffered serious flooding and damage from Hurricane Ida. With the help of our very dedicated and hard-working volunteers, the Playhouse is returning back to normal, minus some furniture, carpeting, costumes, props, cabinets, keyboard, and other important and valuable items. Most importantly, though, our beautiful and historic building is still up and running.

We hope you will consider making a donation to the Playhouse or purchasing a commemorative brick to recognize a performer, volunteer, family, friends or business, which will help us recover some of our losses. Please see below for information on how to donate or purchase a brick.
