TONY WINNER DEBBIE GRAVITTE JOINS
DAVID LAWRENCE FOR TRIBUTE TO HIS PARENTS STEVE AND EYDIE
|
|
One of
Broadway’s favorite leading ladies, Tony Winner Debbie
Gravitte will appear alongside David Lawrence for A
TOAST TO STEVE & EYDIE. David Lawrence is indeed the son
of Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé, two of the music industry’s most
celebrated recording artists and performers. “I am so honored to be
continuing the legacy of my mother and father and their music. I am
equally honored to share the stage with my friend Debbie Gravitte.
The show we’ve put together embodies all their craft, their humor and
their elegance.”
Join us for the East Coast premiere
of this swinging big band tribute to Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gormé, whose careers included television, Vegas and
Broadway. The Grammy and Emmy-winning artists are remembered for such
hits as: “We Got Us,” “I’ve Got to Be Me,” “This Could Be the Start
of Something Big” “The Ballad of the Sad Young Men,” “Too Close for
Comfort,” “Blame it on the Bossa Nova” and “If He Walked into My
Life” (from Jerry Herman’s musical Mame).
Backed by a
full swing bad, conducted by Russ Kassoff, the concerts
take place on Saturday, May 21, at 8 PM and Sunday, May 22, at 3 PM at
the Vogel Auditorium at the Axelrod PAC.

And don’t forget…GREASE IS FINALLY
COMING THIS SUMMER!
“We Go Together,” “Greased Lightnin’,”
“Summer Nights”
|
|
June 3 – 19,
2022
Celebrating
its 50th anniversary, GREASE is
the word this summer! Rescheduled from spring of 2020, America’s
favorite 1950s musical GREASE is finally
taking the stage at the Vogel Auditorium, under the direction and
choreography of Lisa Stevens (Broadway & West
End’s Chicago, 9 to 5) with music direction by Logan
Medland. When the Broadway musical was transformed into a
Hollywood spectacular starring John Travolta and Olivia
Newton-John, Grease became a cultural phenomenon, and the musical continues to break records in the box office—because
it’s that much fun…and we LOVE every song! The show runs
June 3 through June 19….stay tuned for the full cast announcement and
VERY SPECIAL TEEN ANGEL!
