Revolutionary War soldier Sought for Museum Program

Wanted: Colonial Soldier at Readington Museums

The Readington Museums is looking for a colonial soldier for our 4–5-day 5th grade school program between May 16 – 20 (the 20th is a rain day).

The program begins around 9 a.m. and ends around 11:30 a.m. -ish. During that time the students rotate throughout four stations on our property and learn about colonial life.

At the soldier station, the children "sign up" and learn about local militia training. Through first-person interpretation, the soldier shares information about the soldier’s lifestyle, as well as teaching drills. As a hands-on component, we supply each child with a wooden musket cutout. Honorarium offered.

The Readington Museums is in Readington, Hunterdon County, NJ. Please find us at https://www.readingtontwpnj.gov/community/readington-museum.

If interested, please contact the Readington Museums at readingtonmuseums@gmail.com or 908-236-2327.

Please contact Margaret if you portray a Revolutionary War soldier or if you know of someone that she could contact.

Thanks so much.
