Light Opera
of New Jersey returns to live performance in a riveting, fully staged
production of Puccini’s masterwork La Bohème at two New Jersey
locations.
LONJ’s bold
production conducted by Jason C. Tramm and directed by Andrea
DelGiudice, will debut at Somerset County’s intimate Fellowship
Cultural Arts Center Theatre for a two-weekend engagement:
·
Saturday, March 19, at 7:30
pm
·
Sunday Matinee, March 20, @
2:30 pm
·
Friday, March 25, @ 7:30 pm
·
Saturday, March 26, @ 7:30
pm
· Concluding in Essex County at
the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) in a one performance
only appearance, Sunday, March 27, at 7:00 pm.
This
production is set in modern-day NYC and features projected images and
video. Nineteenth century and modern-day New York City have more
in common than you’d think, and the bohemian lifestyle is just as
vibrant and tragic. Come and be transported by a modern retelling of
one of opera’s most enduring works.
The principal
cast includes Molly Dunn (Mimì), Frederick Schlick (Rodolfo), Jason
Detwiler (Marcello), Veronica Shea (Musetta), Suchan Kim (Schaunard),
Chadol Kimn (Colline), Steven Fredericks (Alcindoro/Benoit), and
Zachary Morehouse (Santa Claus); for the March 27 performance at SOPAC,
David Smolokoff (Rodolfo) and Anna Woiwood (Mimì) will join the cast.
This is an
innovative twist on Puccini’s classic and a must for anyone who enjoys
classic opera or modern-day fun! Find out more about Bohème and
