In-person or Virtual: Newark's Beer Industry: An Environmental History—April 5 at 6:00pm

The Rise and Fall of Newark's Beer Industry: An Environmental History

WHEN: Tuesday, April 5, at 6:00pm.
WHERE: Centennial Hall at the Newark Public Library* and via Zoom**

Beer was once one of Newark's great industries, drawing on clean water, good transportation, and a ready supply of workers. The eventual demise of the beer industry in Newark provides an important window on the city's environmental history.

We are delighted to welcome Neil Maher, Professor of History and Master Teacher in the Federated History Department at NJIT and Rutgers-Newark, as our presenter.

*In-person: Light refreshments available from 5:30; program will start promptly at 6:00pm. Free parking at Bears & Eagles Stadium Parking Garage—Essex County Lot—entrance on Bridge Street. Please RSVP by responding to this email (newarkhistorysoc@gmail.com)

**Via Zoom: Please register in advance to receive link: https://njpac-org.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_4fkODSGeQzSHVOs1uos5Fg
