lyricist in her junior year of college. Danny’s strong-willed

administrator who is married to Arlene. Somewhat at a loss as
to how to negotiate their relationship now that their three children
are grown, he is thrilled by the possibility of returning to the

pregnancy forces her to choose between falling back into the

neurotic and insecure, yet energetic and charming women’s collegiate
basketball coach. Deeply in love with her husband Nick, she
very much wants to have a child with him and fulfill her wish to be
the ideal wife and mother.

Danny’s
collegiate track coach and married to Pam. He is nurturing and
supportive and very much wants to have a child, both to make Pam
happy and to fulfill his wish to be a father. Quirky and
playful, at times he uses jokes to cover his vulnerability.

A group of
townspeople and students who guide the audience through the
nine-month journey of the play. They also play various characters throughout
the story and should all be comfortable with solo singing.
