DC REFLECTING FOOLS DEBUTS AT AXELROD
Two Shows: February 19 and 20
|
|
Don’t miss the debut performance
of DC REFLECTING FOOLS—featuring former cast members of
The Capitol Steps—on Saturday, February 19, at 8 PM, at the
Vogel Auditorium at Axelrod PAC and on Sunday, February 20,
at 2 PM at the Theater at Bell Works.
Many touring entertainment
organizations that struggled to survive during the pandemic ended up
closing shop. It was with a sad heart that we said goodbye to The
Capitol Steps in 2021 and the decades of laughter they
brought to audiences.
Now, the stairway to heavenly
political satire originally laid by the Steps continues upward
with DC’s Reflecting Fools— the new musical parody group
created by the performers and co-writer from the Capitol Steps, Mark
Eaton. DC’s Reflecting Fools hold up a mirror to our crazy
political culture, providing hilarious song parodies and foolish
reflections that continue to inspire belly-laughter.
Audiences will continue to see casts
from past seasons of the Capitol Steps performing all the beloved
bits, the show-ending and mind-boggling backward talking spoonerisms,
break-neck costume changes, over-the-top impressions, and all-new
song parodies reflecting the day’s news. Let’s welcome some
reflection! Join us for the unveiling of the next political movement
in comedy sweeping the country - DC’s Reflecting Fools.

NEW DATES FOR STEVE & EYDIE
|
|
Rescheduled from July 2020, A
Toast to Steve & Eydie will take place on May 21 and
22 at the Vogel Auditorium. A brand-new act from the son of Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gormé, David
Lawrence, and Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte, A
Toast to Steve & Eydie celebrates America’s most iconic
musical couple. From the 1960s big band era, Steve Lawrence and Eydie
Gormé were adored by television and nightclub audiences time and
again for their pitch-perfect harmonies and playful banter.
Multi-Emmy and Grammy winners, Steve and Eydie are still counted
today among the most popular entertainers in show-biz history. Now
their legacy continues with their son David Lawrence,
performing alongside Tony winner Debbie Gravitte (Jerome
Robbins’ Broadway). With a live swing band playing arrangements of
their biggest hits and popular standards especially created for
Steve & Eydie, along with classic exclusive video, David and
Debbie pay well-deserved tribute to two exceptional show business
giants.
