“Every one of our students have been beneficiaries of our tuition assistance program, whether they’ve received assistance themselves, or our program has given them the opportunity to get to know and work alongside students from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Our policy of inclusion and diversity means that we do not turn students away because of financial need but work to make sure that no program is out of their reach,” says Janeece Freeman Clark, Founding Artistic Director of Vanguard Theater Company.

Founded in 2015, Vanguard Theater Company is a unique 501(c)(3) committed to changing the narrative through theater dedicated to DREAM: Diversity, Reciprocity, Education, Activism & Mentorship. Vanguard opened the doors to its Montclair home in June 2021, after renovating what was formerly known as the Old Mogul Theatre, including installing many measures to stop the spread of airborne viruses.
