NOVEMBER NEWS FROM THE PAPER MILL PLAYHOUSE

Songs for a New World ends November 7

Only through Nov 7!

Time is running out to see the first show of the reopening season, Songs for a New World. This groundbreaking song cycle put Tony Award-winning composer-lyricist Jason Robert Brown on the map. “THIS SHOW REVOLUTIONIZED THE “SONG CYCLE” AND IS DONE IN THEATERS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY BECAUSE IT IS SO THRILLING. THE PAPER MILL PLAYHOUSE PRODUCTION SHOULD NOT BE MISSED!”—Times Square Chronicles. And BroadwayWorld says, “YOU WILL BE ENTERTAINED, INSPIRED, AND DELIGHTED.”

Rising Star Awards

School registration for the 2022 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards will open on November 17. The Rising Star Awards recognize excellence in the production of New Jersey high school musicals. The first 110 NJ high schools to register will receive a spot on the 2022 roster. Based on the success of last year’s fully remote version of the program there will be a new category that allows for schools unable to mount a full production to submit individual students for consideration.

Giving Thanks

As we look ahead to the holidays, we remember the past and give thanks. Thanks and gratitude for the generosity of our donors and subscribers, friends and first-timers. This is your theater, and you’ve made an impact. As this season’s festivities kick off, please consider making a contribution to your favorite not-for-profit organization, Paper Mill Playhouse, on GivingTuesday this month. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

On November 30 – Join the movement!

Donor Profile

Brent Ashton loved music his whole life and was a music minor. He credits his parents with introducing him to Paper Mill Playhouse. He then introduced his wife Shari to Paper Mill in 2006, and went from three-show to five-show subscribers. They soon joined our Center Stage Society as donors. Shari and Brent began a Sunday night family tradition when they introduced her sister and brother-in-law to Paper Mill. They choose to support Paper Mill because they love our mission, musical theater productions, and education programs.

Introducing

We are excited to launch Paper Mill Playhouse Luminaries, a new program developed with young professionals in mind. Luminaries will work to advance Paper Mill as a home for young theater fans and beyond, as well as engage with their peers and the next generation of theater supporters. The first event took place last Friday night at the Carriage House and featured a beer tasting with Four City Brewing Co.

Luminaries will host more events throughout the season. For an invitation, or more information, please contact Priscilla Cordero, Community Engagement and Audience Development Manager, at PCordero@PaperMill.org.
