THE REVOLUTIONISTS

WHERE: Black River Theatre, 54 Grove St., Chester

We’re looking for 4 adventurous actresses eager to delve into aspects of their true selves, in our quest to bring the comically ridiculous and terrifying situations of these historic characters honestly to life.

Characters:

OLYMPE DE GOUGES – Badass activist playwright and feminist. Theater nerd, excitable, passionate, a showman. Still sometimes surprised when reality doesn’t follow her script.

MARIANNE ANGELLE – A badass Black woman in Paris. From the Caribbean, a free woman, a spy working with her husband. Tough, classy, vigilant; the sanest one of them all.

CHARLOTTE CORDAY – Badass country girl and assassin. Very serious, hardened by righteousness, never been kissed. Appreciates historical significance and the value of a good exit line.

MARIE-ANTIONETTE – Less badass but fascinating former queen of France. Bubbly, graceful, opinionated, totally unaware, unintentionally rude and oddly prescient. Never had a real friend.

• Ages are open.
• Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before auditions are to begin to sign in.
• ALL AUDITIONERS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF COVID VACCINATION OR NEGATIVE COVID TEST WITH-IN 72 HOURS.
• MASKS ARE REQUIRED WHILE IN THEATRE EXCEPT WHILE PERFROMING AUDITION SCENES.
