MONTCLAIR ORCHESTRA SEASON OPENER POSTPONED

Season
Opener Postponed

|
The Montclair Orchestra has
made the very difficult decision to postpone our season-opener concert which
was scheduled for Sunday, October 3rd.
A combination of factors
contributed to this decision, but the two primary considerations were:
- the
recent flooding, which impacted a small but critical portion of our
equipment and supplies. While our stage flooring system was spared the
worst of the flooding, several pieces of equipment including stage
components, music equipment and supplies were damaged, and need to be
replaced or remediated.
- scheduling
has been affected due to multiple considerations, including impacts to
the venue from flood damage, as well as schedule changes due to Covid-19
concerns with partner organizations and institutions.
Our goal now is to plan for
our opening program to take place in early November, and we are making
arrangements to ensure that everything is in place for that to occur. In the
interim, we encourage you to put the following events on your calendar, and
continue to support The Montclair Orchestra locally!
- September 18th, 10:00am to 6:00pm - The
Montclair Orchestra will be at Montclair Art Museum’s Fall Festival!
Come say hi at our volunteer table, and be sure to time your trip for a
special performance at 4:20pm. Interested in being a volunteer? Check
out our opportunities on Volunteermatch.
