A Day of Remembrance on 9/11
Buglisi
Dance Theatre and Lincoln Center, in partnership with Dance/NYC
and Nel Shelby Productions, honor the 20th year since the
events of 9/11 with a livestreamed performance of the Table
of Silence Project 9/11, an annual ritual for peace
conceived and choreographed in 2011 by Jacqulyn Buglisi,
Artistic Director of Buglisi Dance Theatre. Collaborators for
this year's reimagined program include composer/music director
Daniel Bernard Roumain, spoken-word poet Marc Bamuthi Joseph,
Buglisi Dance Theatre co-founder/principal dancer Terese
Capucilli, and video producer Nel Shelby. Tune in to this
performance at Revson Fountain—streamed live from Lincoln
Center—starting at 8:00 am ET and available on-demand
afterward.

In commemoration
of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the Met presents Verdi's Requiem,
with Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting the
extraordinary Met Orchestra and Chorus as well as a quartet of
star soloists: soprano Ailyn Pérez, mezzo-soprano Michelle
DeYoung, tenor Matthew Polenzani, and bass-baritone Eric Owens.
The concert will be transmitted live as part of Great Performances on
PBS, with ballet star Misty Copeland hosting the
program from nearby the site of the 9/11 Museum. Members of the
public are also invited to listen to a live audio broadcast of
the performance in Lincoln Center Plaza, with English text
projected on the façade of the Met.
