MOTOWN COMES ALIVE IN ASBURY PARK & BELL WORKS

MOTOR CITY REVUE AUGUST 25 & 26

TOWER OF POWER’S TOM BOWES WITH LAYONNE HOLMES ON LEAD

The Axelrod is pleased to welcome back Motor City Revue to our Vogel Summer Concert Series. We’re getting close to wrapping up the series, and we’ve saved the best for last. Motor City Revue, a 13-piece band covering popular and rare Motown and Stax hits, with lead singer Layonne Holmes plus special guest Tom Bowes. Nothing captures the sounds of the summer like the immortal songs of Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Supremes. Join MCR for a fun, music-filled summer night in idyllic settings…on the Boardwalk in Asbury Park or on the beautiful Bell Works deck overlooking the lake and trees.

Tom Bowes, the former lead singer from Tower of Power, will be joining the group for their August concerts in Asbury Park and Bell Works. Bowes has had the privilege of sharing the stage with such legendary artists as Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Roger Daltrey, and The Doobie Brothers. In 2012, he toured as the lead singer for Blood, Sweat and Tears.

Tickets available for all four shows: Wednesday, August 25, at 5:30 PM and 8 PM at the Arthur Pryor Bandshell on the Asbury Park Boardwalk and Thursday, August 26, at 5:30 PM and 8 PM on the outside deck at Bell Works in Holmdel.
