The Chatham Community Players

For 7 to 11 Year Olds

Calling all 7- to 11-year-olds who love performing!

Come and be part of The Chatham Community Players Theater Creations. Camp runs Monday through Friday, 9 am to 12 noon ~ August 9 thru August 20 Young actors will learn the fundamentals of acting onstage while using their imaginations and artistic creativity to develop their very own play!

Through various games and exercises, kids will also learn about different theatrical elements and how they are used to shape a performance. An original script will be created using the kids' chosen storyline and characters. This work will be rehearsed and ultimately presented on the Chatham Playhouse stage in a full performance with no scripts in hand for family and friends.

Price includes a copy of the final show and a Theater Creations T-shirt. The two week camp is only $325 per person.

Chatham Community Players will host its 27th annual JERSEY VOICES One-Act Festival with five performances between August 6 and August 15. This year’s production will include seven original short plays written by New Jersey playwrights.

We welcome you to join us as we explore the joys of live, original theater in The Chatham Playhouse, where JERSEY VOICES has provided a venue for New Jersey playwrights to showcase their work since 1995. There’s a risk in coming to see any author’s new work, whether you’ve heard of them before or not. It’s brave and courageous, and we’re grateful our audience trusts us enough to share the experience. JERSEY VOICES has presented the work of more than 90 authors in their 27 years.

“After a over a year of virtual theatre and plenty of Netflix, I could not be more excited to be bringing JERSEY VOICES back to life on the Chatham stage. As we got all the actors and directors together for our first read-through, you could feel the excitement in the room as people prepared to create again,” said producer Jessica Phelan of Montclair.
