#StopAsianHate – Celebrating AAPI heritage and more this May
May
is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. More than
ever, it's essential to celebrate AAPI heritage through art, education,
gratitude, and support for AAPI communities.
In light of the rise in violence against AAPI people and
communities, we're hosting a virtual talk
with educators and leaders on May 19 as part of our ongoing Himalayan
Heritage program series. Together we'll unpack some of the circumstances
that lead to AAPI violence. We'll explore the origins of Asian hate, including
how stereotypes can lay the groundwork for physical violence, and how communities
are fighting back for change!
