(Photo: @russellgparrish) Fragile Freedoms: Maggie Meiners Revisits
Rockwell
On View
As timely and thought provoking as it
gets. This exhibition reimagines the iconic work of
Norman Rockwell through the lens of modern America. With stunningly vivid
detail, Maggie Meiners’s carefully constructed photographs turn nostalgia
on its head and rework Rockwell’s familiar imagery to address contemporary
issues including racism, sexuality, gender roles, and the impact of
technology.

Ceramic Hand-Building: Under the Big Top Ages 9-12
Working
exclusively outdoors, students learn the proper use of tools, sculpting
techniques, surface design, and glazing while creating decorative and
functional objects such as pots and vases. Circus-themed projects will
inspire students to get creative and have fun, with an emphasis on
self-expression. The finished artwork will be kiln-fired to be cherished
for years to come!
Drawing
and Painting: In the Great Outdoors Ages 8-12
Learn essential drawing and painting techniques, with a
focus on landscape and picturing the natural world. Students will enjoy
being creative with other young artists while sharpening observational and
representational skills. Experimenting in both dry and wet media, students
will explore the properties of line, value, color, texture and composition,
capturing views in natural light and rendering expressive atmospheric
effects, while developing their own personal artistic vision of the world.
Teen classes are filling up but space is still available. Register Today!
