SPRING BIRD WALK: MEADOWS & EDGES

April 28

Naturalist Bill Lynch will lead us through the meadows and forest edges of Bamboo Brook as we search for both spring migrants and breeding birds. Songbirds love the transition between forest and field, and use the treetops to sing their hearts out to potential mates. Check it out!

Cost: FREE. Preregistration is required.

BORN TO BE SHORN May 1 It’s time for a haircut! Visit Fosterfields and watch master shearer, Margaret Quinn, demonstrate how to properly shear a sheep, the old-fashioned way. Space is limited!  Click here for more info. Cost: $15 per person.  Preregistration is required.

FAMILY PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT: KINDS OF BLUE  May 1 – May 31 Bring your camera or phone for this month’s hunt. Take a photo of every item, and get a prize. Check it out! Cost: $10 per family. (Family/Group of 6 or less). Preregistration is required.

 

FLOWER ARRANGING FOR MOM May 4 and 5 VIRTUAL FLORAL ARRANGING WITH SUPERMARKET FLOWERS FOR MOTHER’S DAY – Adults. Ann Fahey, Superintendent of Horticulture Education, will demonstrate how to make a simple supermarket bouquet into a gift-worthy Mother’s Day arrangement. Bring your own bouquet and work along at home to make your own arrangement, while learning tips and tricks of the trade. Click here for more info. Cost: $10 per person. Preregistration is required. FLOWERS FOR MOM: ARRANGING WITH SUPERMARKET FLOWERS FOR KIDS – Ages 7 – 12. Using flowers from the supermarket, young arrangers will create a centerpiece perfect for the most important “mom” in their lives.
