RVCC Hosts Site for 2021 Virtual Global Game Jam; Creates Nine Games

Raritan Valley Community College hosted a site for the 2021 Virtual Global Game Jam, held January 29-31. The global event drew over 28,500 participants worldwide from 585 virtual hubs in 104 countries.

Thirty-five jammers participated virtually as part of the RVCC Game Jam site, including veteran game creators, RVCC alumni, Game Development students and community members, who were brought together virtually via Discord, an instant messaging and digital distribution platform used for creating communities.

In total, the RVCC jammers built nine games using the event's theme, “Lost and Found.” The games may be downloaded at https://globalgamejam.org/2021/jam-sites/raritan-valley-community-college-virtual/games.

To learn more about the games and to speak with their creators, the public is invited to participate in a virtual “Meet the Developers” session on February 12, at 6 p.m. To register for the session, visit http://bit.ly/RVCC-GGJ21-MeetPlay.
