day off from school featuring a LIVE penguin from Jenkinson’s Aquarium! Learn all about penguins of the world, listen to a penguin story, make a

WINTER PLANTS AT THE KAY CENTER

Get some fresh air and learn the
science of winter plant identification along the easy, scenic trails of the

What came first; the chicken or
the egg? Learn all about our feathered friends in this online class. Discover
how to properly hold a chicken, and learn all about their social ways, their
eggs, and what they eat. Tuesday, January 26 – The
New Jersey Biome
New Jersey has more than one type
of biome. Learn what they are, where they are, and then dig into the
temperate forest that is Morris County. Pick up supplies at the Frelinghuysen

Chores
Fosterfields might close for the
season, but our farm chores continue all winter long. Join us for this
fun, hands-on program and learn how our farmers still maintain the farm during
the colder months. Saw wood, sweep the barn, stack hay, and much more!
Tuesday, January 26 – Maple
Sugaring
Head into the forest to learn how
to identify and tap maple trees, collect sap, and make syrup over a wood-fired
evaporator. Hear the legend of how maple sugaring started at the wigwam.

program find out the best kinds of feeders to use, how to discourage
squirrels, and fun facts about the year-round resident birds you’re likely to
