SVP Casting Call:  Virtual Ad Lib Live Performance

Casting Call:

Directed by: Mike Muller and Darren Nye
Produced by: Todd Bennington

WHEN: Sunday, January 10th, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12th, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Please sign up for a 15-minute audition slot via Signup Genius.

Please log in a few minutes early for your audition time slot. You will initially be in the Zoom 'waiting room' until we are ready for you. All auditioners will have individual time with the production team to present your character(s). You should show up to the audition AS THE CELEBRITY you want to play. You will be asked to introduce your character and provide a typical Match Game question answer IN CHARACTER.

Please visit the SVP website to download and complete an Audition Form and email it to: matchgame@svptheatre.org. Please feel free to forward a theater resume and headshot if you have one. Don't worry if you do not have acting experience; it is not a prerequisite.

Please let us know if you have potential rehearsal conflicts during January by marking the audition form.

** All rehearsals will be virtual via Zoom. You MUST attend the rehearsals to ensure a smooth and fun evening for all.

WHERE: All auditions will be virtual via Zoom.   You will receive an email with the link for the Zoom-based audition meeting at a later date.

Performance Dates:  There will only be Virtual Online Performance on Sunday, January 31st, at 7 p.m.

You are invited to audition for the SVP MatchKlatch Game as a celebrity panelist!

This will be a parody of the TV Game Show The Match Game.

The live Zoom session for an evening of fun will be Sunday, January 31st, at 7PM. Our intentions are to play 2 or 3 or more games, if possible, in a 90-minute or less session. Our contestants and audience members will be invited SVP patrons.

  • It's up to each actor auditioning as a celebrity panelist to decide what celebrity they wish to impersonate. Please come prepared with your own creation of a celebrity (fictional or historical, dead or alive, athlete, actor, singer, performer, politician, comedian, stage character, you know... a "celebrity" or well known "character").
  • One celebrity impersonation is required but please feel free to prepare 2 or 3 personalities of your choice. Actors with multiple submissions may be considered for multiple match games played during the evening.
  • Most important is the ability to make fun of the celebrity (yourself), in addition to your peers, in a manner that is not mean-spirited. Also try to exhibit as many of the celebrity personality quirks and body language/movements as possible.
  • Come up with a costume of your own choice that is fun and representative of the person you are impersonating. Don't go over the top as costumes, wigs, and makeup are yours as SVP will not be able to compensate you for these items. This is for fun!
  • Celebrity Panelists should be witty and quick thinkers.
  • You should be comfortable with improv and be able to bring your character to life—while also playing the game correctly.
  • Answers should be simple and clever, like the real Match Game—not too long and drawn out.

We will have at least two rehearsals so we can all see how the Zoom session will work
