Wednesday, January 13, 10 am - 11 am

Ages 3 - 5 (with an adult).

The leaves are gone and all that’s left are the bare bones of the trees.  Look at their shapes and sizes and discover what’s going on inside trees in a walk around the arboretum. Click here to learn more!

VIRTUAL AWESOME ANIMAL ARTISTS


Wednesday, January 13 – 4 pm - 4:45 pm

Ages 5 & Up.

In this LIVE, virtual program, learn to draw a NJ native animal and create your own masterpiece!  First guess the animal of the month with clues, then learn all the facts about this animal's life before learning to draw it using simple shapes and lines, guided by Miss Jenny.  You'll be amazed at what you can do!  For more information, click here!

New Jersey’s native people relied on handmade tools constructed of natural materials for survival. Take a virtual tour of the decorated wigwam model and see authentic artifacts, including arrowheads, fishing net weights, drills, and more, all used by real Native Americans in the past.

Thursday, January 28 Oral History

Have you ever wondered how to capture family members’ memories for posterity but were unsure where to start?  Join museum staff as they discuss the basics of taking oral histories and share some examples from the Historic Collections of the Morris County Park Commission.
