Harmonium Choral Society Presents Summer Workshops

WHEN: first session is set for Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. and is geared toward children aged three and younger. The second session is set for Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. and is geared towards children three to six years old.

FEE: The fees ($20 per 45-minute session) will be split between Mr. Vergara and Harmonium Choral Society. Feel free to include as many kids and family members as you can fit on the Zoom screen!
Tickets are available by registering at Harmonium.yapsody.com. Please register online by 24 hours before each class. Zoom links will be emailed starting July 15th.

Harmonium Choral Society welcomes kids, grandparents, parents, and especially teachers to attend two summer virtual workshops. These workshops are great for stimulating summer music-making ideas.

Marco Vergara is a certified music teacher and specialist in early childhood music education. He teaches at The Montessori Children’s Academy’s three campuses, runs a private music lesson business, hosts the video blog “Singing to Kids,” and is a father to four young children.

Harmonium Choral Society, based in Morris County, is one of New Jersey's leading choral arts organizations. The 100-voice choral society has been recognized for its musical excellence and innovative programming, and has commissioned and premiered works by Amanda Harberg, Matthew Harris, Elliot Z. Levine, Harmonium's composers-in-residence Mark Miller and Martin Sedek, and others.

Directed by Dr. Anne J. Matlack of Madison, Harmonium’s season consists of four subscription concerts held in December, March, April, and June, as well as numerous special events and partnerships. Harmonium, known for its eclectic programming, choral excellence, and community spirit, sponsors commissions and musicianship workshops, as well as an Outreach Chorus that performs in schools, nursing homes, and other venues. Harmonium sponsors an annual High School Student Choral Composition Contest, which celebrated its 23rd anniversary in the 2019-20 season. This innovative program won the prestigious Chorus America Education and Outreach Award. Harmonium has toured internationally to England and Wales, Eastern Europe, Northern Italy, Spain and Portugal, Greece and Turkey, and the Baltics.
