A Sense of Gratitude Fills the Air at Greenwood Gardens

Dear Friends,

We head into the summer months cautiously, but with a sense of optimism about reopening this fall. The renovations that have been underway at Greenwood since last July are nearly complete.  Final stages include adding stone veneer and internet capabilities to the new ticket booth, pouring the concrete in the Garden of the Gods’ fountain, and creating an “emerald necklace” of woodland plantings to surround it.

Throughout the garden, there will be much that is new to gaze upon: reopened historic views to the Teahouse and the ponds, and beautifully renovated landscape areas including the Forecourt Oval, Tennis Loggia, Cottage Walk, and the Teahouse and Summerhouse beds.  In addition, Greenwood’s collection of gorgeous antique garden ornaments is being brought out of storage to further adorn our historic landscape.

A sense of gratitude infuses the atmosphere here. Thanks to you, our inaugural Spring Appeal has yielded an enthusiastic response that provides much needed support for the Grow Greenwood Fund.  The Fund will help sustain our year-round operations as we move closer to the completion of our transformative capital and horticultural projects.  We are also grateful to donors who have funded commemorative teak benches and chairs that will provide gracious new seating options throughout the garden.

Finally, we were pleased to learn that Elle Décor has run a compilation of the “10 Most Beautiful Gardens” the magazine has ever photographed, and happily, Greenwood made the list!  You can find the article at this link.

Greenwood Gardens stands ready to serve the entire community as a safe outdoor sanctuary for those seeking tranquility and revitalization during these uncertain times. It is why we look forward to enthusiastically welcoming you to a transformed historic garden oasis in the fall.

Wishing you a healthy summer season,
