Pixie Dust Players’ Summer Workshops Begin in One Week!

The time is running out to sign up for our summer workshops!

During these one-week workshops, participants will learn about the basics of Musical Theatre Songwriting and how musicals are constructed in general through lyric-writing exercises and close readings of musical theater classics. Participants will also collaborate on the creation of a brand new 10-minute musical, which will be unique for each session. No previous songwriting experience required!

Enrollment will be limited to ensure individualized attention.

Meet Your Instructor

Jake Gluckman has studied musical theater composition as well as musical theater libretto writing. During his junior year at Yale, Jake premiered his first original musical, entitled My World, which was based on his brother’s experience growing up with Autism. When he’s not performing or writing, Jake loves reading, attempting the NYTimes Crossword, and working on his island in Animal Crossing.

During these one-week workshops, performers will participate in an audition workshop and will explore a given musical while learning several songs and dances from the show.  At the end of the week, each performer will film their section of the ~10 minute medley at home, and the following week, we will have a watch party to enjoy the full video!

Enrollment will be limited to ensure individualized attention.
