McCarter LIVE: In conversation with Nilo Cruz
FRIDAY, JUNE 12, at 7:30PM

Cuban-American and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz (Anna in the Tropics, Bathing in Moonlight at McCarter) joins Emily Mann for a moderated conversation about playwriting, their friendship, and work as artistic collaborators.

Sweet Honey In The Rock: "Come Ye (from a distance)"

Sweet Honey In The Rock, the three-time Grammy-nominated all-female a cappella ensemble, has performed for McCarter audiences over a dozen times. While isolating separately, they recorded Nina Simone's "Come Ye" as part of This Moment (a virtual rally and artistic uprising for an inclusive America), accompanied by an upright acoustic bass and sign-language interpreter. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater: "WE. DANCE."

"When our hearts break, we dance," states Hope Boykin, company member of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and author of the powerful words that accompany this video. Watch how her fellow dancers interpret each word and inflect deep emotion into every movement.   WATCH
