Travel to Mars with the American Museum of Natural History!

American Museum of Natural History | 150 Years

Thank you to everyone who supported the Museum during yesterday’s global day of giving, #GivingTuesdayNow. The outpouring of support from our community was truly inspiring―meeting the entire $50,000 matching gift challenge brought to us by two generous couples―and establishing momentum toward financial recovery and reopening. At this unprecedented moment, every gift, of any size matters, and we are still accepting donations here.

As we work toward reopening, we will continue to carry out our scientific and educational mission during this difficult time by providing digital resources, programs, and courses.

This week, please join us on Friday, May 8, at 1:30 pm, for Field Trip Mars—a real-time flyover across the Martian landscape with the Museum’s Director of Astrovisualization Carter Emmart and astrophysicist Jackie Faherty, who will be fielding questions live as we fly over canyons, hover past impact craters, and trace the trackways of the exploration rover, Opportunity.
