FINAL Voting Deadline for MyKosher Kids Cooking Contest
I know you've all been waiting for an update on the contest, and I am so excited to announce that we've resolved the issues to the best of our ability. Therefore, we have decided that we are extending voting until Thursday, 5/21, at 3:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time.
When I started watching the firstMyKosher video submissions, magnetically, my kids appeared around me to watch over my shoulder. I loved their delight in watching kids their age (and younger! shout out to the 2, and 3-year-olds who participated in this contest!) being creative in the kitchen.
In the days after the contest went live, we watched many many kids of all different ages and backgrounds cook everything from potato kugel to french macarons. It became my family's last-few-minutes before-bed activity, and each time we made a mental note of the great-looking things we wanted to make.
My kids could not enter the contest (due to their mother being the editor, winning was 100% not viable)! But they enjoyed experiencing the creative journey each child went on, from idea to end delicious result.
Each child who participated was a part of something bigger. They became part of a community that knit together kids of all ages from across the globe, focusing their energy on something positive during these challenging days indoors. With over 1,600 entries, it is impossible for our small staff to properly watch and judge each video in a timely fashion. We decided that the best way for a winner to be chosen was to open it up to the public for voting because it gives people the most opportunities to watch and enjoy the videos that all the kids have submitted.
We applaud each and every kid who mustered up the courage to put themselves in front of a camera, making their favorite dish and presenting it to the world of MyKosher Kids worldwide.
