Studio Explorers: Critter Creations
Ages 6–8
Instructor: Shannon Anderson
Get creative and join a MAM Art Educator in making amazing animal artworks from your own home in our virtual studio lessons! Students will have fun exploring a variety of techniques to create cute critters using recycled materials and basic art supplies, inspired by the exhibition Federico Uribe: Animalia.
This class is online. Students will need to have a computer, tablet or phone with internet and access to Zoom. Students will also need to have class specific art materials that are listed here.
Digital Art
Ages 9–12
Instructor: Raul Barcelona
This online class guides students through the use of readily available digital production tools, such as smartphones, apps and free open-source computer programs, to bring to life a variety of original Digital Art projects. First, students create their own original digital drawings before practicing basic image manipulation and photomontage techniques in producing an original graphic design. Building on these skills, students explore audiovisual storytelling in their production of a Photo Roman, a short narrative film consisting of multiple manipulated still images and sound.

Fab Lab: Artful Animals
Ages 9–12
Instructor: Dan Fenelon
Expand your creative skills and develop new art-making techniques in this online mixed media class inspired by the exhibition Federico Uribe: Animalia. Create unique animal sculptures using common household items, recycled materials, and basic art supplies in these guided lessons with a MAM Art Educator. Class concentrates on encouraging individual creativity combined with hands-on learning to create one-of-a kind artworks.

Drawing
Teens Ages 12–15
Instructor: Julian Tejera
Take your drawing to the next level in this virtual studio class and develop work for your art portfolio. Working from observation and reference, explore a variety of mark making techniques and the fundamental elements of line, value, proportion and composition through online guided instruction.

Intermediate Landscape Oil Painting
Adult (Age 16+)
Instructor: Gary Godbee
Learn landscape painting techniques in this virtual studio class and receive individual guidance to express your own unique style. Apply atmospheric effects of light and shade with tonal values uniting into a balanced composition. This class is not for beginners.

Introduction to American Art History
Adult (Age 16+)
Instructor: Jennifer Rittner
This 4-part online series draws on works from MAM’s permanent collection to explore themes such as art and the natural world, representations of the human form, reflections on social issues, and historic innovations in the use of materials. Students will develop visual thinking skills that will be useful as they continue their lifelong experience in looking at art. Grab a beverage of your choice and connect with other art lovers in this lecture and conversation series. Register by the day, or for all 4 classes!
