I have tried to keep up-to-date regarding cultural events’ cancellations and postponements.
If you are in doubt about whether an event will go on as planned, check the blog regularly and/or call the venue to make sure.
If you are a fan of podcasts, here are some theater podcasts recommended by the New York Times on Sunday:
THE HAMILCAST: everything you want to know about the show HAMILTON.
OFF BOOK: THE BLACK THEATRE PODCAST: conversations between the hosts and guests from all walks of theatrical life, including actors, costume designers and writers.
PLAYING ON AIR: each episode delivers a contemporary one-act play performed by actors like Adam Driver, Audra McDonald and Michael C. Hall, followed by a conversation with the creative team.
VARIETY’S STAGECRAFT: a gold mine of searching interviews with actors and other theater professionals about their Broadway and Off Broadway endeavors.
CURTAIN CALL THEATRE PODCAST: offers a glimpse into the backstage goings-on in London’s West End; wide-ranging interviews give listeners a detailed sense of what it takes for a show to come together (such as an 8-part series delving into the making of the Tony-winning COME FROM AWAY.
DAVID TENNANT DOES A PODCAST WITH…: The iconic protagonist on “Doctor Who” converses with friends and colleagues, drawing out unique insights about the mind-set of being a performer.
And, of course, there is always Netflix, Prime Video, TCM (for classic movies), HBO offerings and BOOKS!
In the meantime, stay safe, healthy and in good spirits.
