Beat Bugs: A Musical Adventure

Bergen County Players (BCP) continues its 87th season with Beat Bugs: A Musical Adventure.

Featuring music made famous by The Beatles, the entire family will enjoy this new musical adaptation based on the Netflix animated series which centers around five pals who explore the world and learn life lessons. Kids ages 3 through 10 will love the story, while parents and grandparents will thrill to the music of their youth as the show incorporates numerous songs from the Beatles iconic catalogue including All You Need is Love, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Strawberry Fields Forever and Yellow Submarine.

Ray Yucis (Director) is a life member of Bergen County Players and has directed numerous productions including And the Winner Was?, Time Stands Still, Brooklyn Boy, The Women, Company, Moonlight & Magnolias, Comic Potential (Perry Award Nomination/Best Direction) and Around the World in 80 Days. A resident of Paterson, he also serves as Resident Director of SummerStage at Leonia where he directed, among others shows, Oklahoma!, Carousel and My Fair Lady.

The production team includes Rachel Alt (Producer), Geri Berhain (Assistant Director/Stage Manager), Steve Taylor (Music Director), Ashlei Hayes Carlson (Choreographer), Maureen Mulvihill (Costumes), Joe Lanteri (Lighting Design), Sandra Conklin (Lighting Operator, Publicity), Michael Smith (Set Design/Construction), Lauren Zenreich (Décor), Terri Caust (Décor) Barbra Murtha (Props), Karen Markle (Props), Tim Larsen (Sound Design) Randi Kestin (Sound Operator), Marci Weinstein (Programs), Joyce Slous (Member at Large), Gloria Bumbaco (Crew), David Luke (Crew) and Alan Zenreich (Photography). The cast includes Chris Milone of Leonia (Walter), Alexander Café of Emerson (Jay), Ella Ventimiglia of River Vale (Buzz), Ann M. Alfano of Woodland Park (Crick) and Kat Cacciola of Sparta (Kumi). Members of the ensemble include Lisa Dascoli of Little Falls, Richard L. Field of Cliffside Park, James Lesko of Little Ferry, Joanna Sigurdsson of Bergenfield and Andrew Whitney of Ramsey.

Bergen County Players has grown tremendously from its roots as a small community theater when it was founded in 1932. Today, nearly 300 volunteer members, working on and off stage, make possible the nine productions presented each season.
