WHERE: Farmstead Arts Center, located at 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge

Farmstead Arts Center has announced a full schedule of family-friendly concerts, theater, lectures and more for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.

Farmstead Arts 2019-2020 Season opens in September with a jazz concert covering the many faces of jazz (Ragtime, Dixieland, Blues, Charleston, Swing, Jazz on Broadway, Jazz in movies, and Rock-N-Roll) by BrassWorks Quintet. In October, just in time for Halloween, Anne and Ridley Enslow will appear in colonial costumes of the 1770s era and will give a history presentation, through music, entitled “George Washington and His Spies.” Palisades Virtuosi, New Jersey’s premier Chamber Music ensemble, will perform in November. Odarka Stockert will close out 2019 with a holiday concert on Celtic harp in December.

2020 performances include “The Journey with Romantic Cello” featuring internationally acclaimed Mira Kang on cello and Grammy-nominated Allison Brewster Franzetti on piano. The Enslows return in March with “Three Centuries of Music—istory of the Farmstead” a new concert sampling music from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The season concludes in April with Itay Goren, an internationally acclaimed pianist, celebrating Beethoven’s 250th Anniversary.

Two lectures “Benjamin Franklin” in November 2019 and “The Constitution” in April 2020 will be given by Nolan Asch, an avid student of history, a member of the Summit Old Guard and one of seven National Hamilton Advocates designated by The Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society.
