A musical comedy send-up of love, greed and revolution in a Gotham-like city where water is in short supply and an evil company profits from one of humanity's most basic needs.
Director Genevieve Estanislau is looking for:
- 10 MALES, ages 20-40+
- 6 FEMALES, ages 20-40
SPECIAL NOTES: Auditioners must sign up for an appointment HERE.
- Please prepare 32 bars of a comedic musical theatre song not from the show.
- Actors will be asked to read/sing from the script.
- A dance routine will be taught at the callback (if necessary).

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:
Officer Lockstock Male, 30’s – 40’s The tongue-in-cheek narrator of our story. He is a corrupt policeman who secretly kills off the guilty offenders. Bold, brash and larger than life in many ways. Vocal Range: A2 – A4
Little Sally Female, 20’s – early 30’s A precocious and irreverent street urchin. She serves as a quasi-narrator who often questions Lockstock and the play’s logic. Vocal Range: A3 – E5
Bobby Strong Male, 20’s – early 30’s The dashing, rebellious everyman who works for Miss Pennywise a the poorest, filthiest town urinal. He becomes an unsuspecting protagonist and romantic hero when he starts a revolution and falls in love with Hope Cladwell. Vocal Range: A2 – C5
Hope Cladwell Female, 20’s – early 30’s Cladwell’s ravishingly beautiful daughter, torn between her father and her new love for Bobby. She begins as an innocent, naïve angel but becomes vengeful and determined after being exposed to her father’s evil. Vocal Range: A3 – A5
Penelope Pennywise Female, Late 40’s – Early 50’s The tough, jaded warden of the poorest filthiest town urinal. She is Cladwell’s one-time lover and mother to Hope who eventually softens her temper. Vocal Range: A3 – C6
Caldwell B. Cladwell Male, Late 40’s – Early 50’s The evil president and owner of the Urine Good Company. He is a miserly money-grubber who gleefully exploits the poor. Vocal Range: A2 – G4
Mr. McQueen Male, Mid 30’s Cladwell’s psychopathic lackey and a servile assistant. Puppet experience sought but not required. Vocal Range: B2 – E4
Senator Fipp Male, Mid 30’s A greedy politician in Cladwell’s pocket and a bumbling coward. Puppet experience sought but not required. Vocal Range: C#4 – F4
Officer Barrel Male, Mid 30’s – late 40’s Lockstock’s patrol partner. A thuggish and aggressive policeman. Vocal Range: G2 – F4
Blades Harry Male, Mid 20’s – early 30’s One of the Poor. He is psychopathic and can become a violent, loose cannon. Will double as others. Vocal Range: A2 – F4
Becky Two-Shoes Female, Mid 20’s – early 30’s One of the Poor. She is foul-mouthed, impulsive, and accusatory. Will double as others. Vocal Range: Bb3 – F5
Tiny Tom Male, Mid 20’s One of the Poor. He’s an idiotic man-child. Will double as others. Vocal Range: D3 – A3
Soupy Sue Female, Mid 20’s One of the Poor. She is excitable and easily panicked. Will double as others. Vocal Range: Bb3 – B4
Josephine “Ma” Strong Female, Late 40’s Bobby’s mother and Joseph’s wife. A strong-willed woman with a bite, able to withstand the hard hand life has dealt her. Will double as others. Vocal Range: Bb3 – B4
Joseph “Old Man” Strong Male, Late 40’s Bobby’s rebellious father. His refusal to pay the fee sends him to Urinetown, ultimately launching the revolution. Will double as others. Vocal Range: G2 – G4
Robbie the Stockfish Male, Late 20’s One of the Poor. Follows the revolution. Will double as others. Vocal Range: G2 – G4
