The Strollers community theater will continue its 87th season with a presentation of Arthur Miller’s adaptation of An Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen. This classic drama will be performed for two weekends in March at The Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts in Maplewood, NJ.

Although the original work was born more than a century ago, the message of An Enemy of the People is still relevant today—perhaps more so than ever before. The play’s events pit government against press, well-being against economics, and family member against family member, as a doctor who has discovered a potentially dangerous health situation in his town must risk everything to do what he thinks is right. As the play progresses, it raises and examines from all angles the question of what it takes to stand firm in one’s beliefs despite the objections of others.

An Enemy of the People cast includes Ron Richardson, Art Delo, Alan Foster, Jennifer Padley, Mateo Moreno, Jason Kruk, Toby Kruk, Theo Kruk, John Mendlovitz, Shiva Kiani, Meghan Sudol, Ralph MacKensie, Mary Clare Cardoni and Stephanie Turner.

The production is directed by Sharon Quinn and produced by Norman Metz. Stephanie Turner and Mary Clare Cardoni serve as stage managers, with set design by Ken Lordy and Judi Gajary and costuming by Judy French and Fran Shultz.
