Carrie Emma is an English-born artist who creates art in multiple media using fabric, papier-maché, canvas and rocks. Often made from found objects or recycled materials, her work is “alive with color and energy,” writes Liz Donovan in Morris/Essex Health & Life. “I love color, texture, patterns. I’m constantly inspired by nature. I literally can’t walk my dog
without finding something beautiful that captures my attention, and I have to stop and take a picture.
I’m happiest working in my studio, music blaring, sun on my back and my hands covered in paint,
glue or sequins!” said Carrie.
Carrie graduated from the prestigious central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London,
England, with a degree in fashion and print, and was a senior print artist for a designer in New York
City for many years. In addition to creating her own artwork, Carrie shares her talents inspiring local
children in after school programs. For more information on her work visit www.carrieemma.com .
The Luna Gallery will be open one hour prior to performances of Roan @ the Gates: Thursdays at
7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm through February 24, as well as by
appointment with the Luna Stage office. The exhibition will also be on display during the Luna
Dinner Series event on Sunday, March 3 from 6-9pm, when Carrie’s newest large-scale acrylic
painting will be auctioned off. The March 3 benefit is being presented in conjunction with The
United Tastes of America (formerly Syria Supper Club). For details and reservations about the Luna
Dinner Series, please visit www.LunaStage.org/Dinner .
About Luna Stage
Luna Stage develops and produces vibrant plays about local and global experiences. Luna brings
communities together for artistic events that spark conversations and create understanding and
change. Firmly rooted in New Jersey’s Valley Arts District—a crossroads of cultures—the Company
celebrates the diverse voices that surround us. As producer, educator, and innovator, Luna Stage is
dedicated to eliminating barriers to participation and nurturing the next generation of audiences and
artists.
Luna’s classes for children and adults, and its developmental programs for early career artists,
inspire community members to nurture their own creativity and vision.
Luna Stage has contributed to the development of over 80 new works for the stage, earning a
reputation for artistic excellence. Some of those plays have gone on to productions in New York City and beyond. Luna’s unique approach to producing, as well as the work itself, fosters an environment
of inclusivity, understanding, and infinite possibility.
