The New Year’s Concert, Salute to Vienna gives audiences a chance to take a step back in time and explore the sights and sounds of Vienna’s golden hour. Inspired by the annual Viennese “Neujahrskonzert, this frothy celebration blends acclaimed European singers and dancers with a full orchestra in a fresh new program each year. From confused identities and hilarious social catastrophes of 18th century bourgeoisie in Die Fledermaus, to the triumph of true love conquering all in Merry Widow, to the charm of the Gypsy Princess whose love of cabaret singing saves the day, the vignettes featured in Salute to Vienna give audiences a glimpse of Vienna’s golden age.
