Amidst the bustle of a crowded London train station, two strangers (played by Christopher Gibbs and Kelly Maizenaski) are thrust into a fascinating life-changing game, and they will never be the same again. This piece brings to life the uncertain and often comical sparring match that is human connection. Witness their unlikely relationship develop in Alliance Repertory Theatre’s production of Heisenberg.

“This intricate play, about the uncertainty of human relationships, requires two superb actors to make it work,” says Director David Christopher. “I have been fortunate to cast Christopher and Kelly, who weave their way through this delicate ‘dance’, bringing it to a joyful and satisfying conclusion.”

What critics have to say about the play: “Stephens’ great interest…is how our perception of people and relationships alters depending on what we know, what we see and whose side we see it from.” —The Guardian.

“On its surface, …a satisfyingly sentimental, life-affirming mating dance between two people who are so utterly dissimilar that of course they are made for each other. But if you choose to tune into the quieter frequencies, you’ll detect the presence of a probing work that considers the multiplicity of alternatives that could shape our lives at every moment.” —NY Times.

“[Stephens] tells the simple story of two perfect strangers who embark on an affair and find their lives changes irrevocably. You’ve seen this one before, you say? Not like this one, you haven’t…” —Entertainment Weekly.

Up next, The Way We Get By by Neil LaBute opening in November.
