Artist's statement:

810_7915I am a photographer and a book artist. My exhibit will be a compilation of hand made books that I have created over the past 35 years. In my art, I utilize photography, book engineering, collage, sculpture, welding, photo transfers, alternative photo processes, paper making, encaustic, painting, scherenschnitte (paper cutting), drawing, and sewing. My exhibit will showcase how I incorporate these practices into my book arts. I enjoy and appreciate the art of the book because it naturally represents a beginning and ending to an idea.

I will also showcase handmade books either given to me or purchased by me that I think are exceptional representations of book arts.
