The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades is offering a special day trip to The Barnes Foundation when the museum will be holding a special Renoir exhibit: Father and Son/Painting and Cinema, which explores the works of the acclaimed film director Jean Renoir and the influence his father, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, had on his art and life.
The Barnes Foundation is an experience worth having and repeating. Participants on the tour will get to view one of the world’s leading collections of impressionist and post-impressionist art, including 181 Renoirs, 69 Cézannes and 59 Matisses, along with works by Manet, Degas, Seurat, Prendergrast, Titian and Picasso. They can also add a quick trip across the street to view the Rodin Museum, the largest collection of sculptor Auguste Rodin’s work outside of Paris.
The group will lunch is on their own in the museum restaurant or somewhere nearby. (The JCC will provide a list of suggestions). Trip includes luxury tour bus to and from the JCC, museum admission to the Barnes’ permanent collection and the special Renoir exhibit. It does not include Rodin Museum admission.
