Lynne Nellen, LAA Art TeacherThe ACL Gallery is dedicating this Junior Members Art Show to the memory of Harriet Hiller (left), President of LAA and creator of art classes for all ages.  We honor her dedication, abiding spirit, generosity and forethought in creating this fun learning experience as well as her driving force and spirit behind these programs.

This very important LAA program offers art experiences for children in grades 1 to 5.  Integrated problem solving, the elements and principles of design, art techniques, artists materials, literature and cultural references are woven into this rich program via a wide range of art activities.

For the past thirteen years, these classes have been taught by Carol Lynne Nellen , a retired certified Art Teacher for grades K-12.  Ms. Nellen taught in the West Orange school system for forty years. She attended Paterson University of New Jersey and is  a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in Art Education.  She furthered her education at Montclair State University, Dean University, Upsala College and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

“The emphasis of this art program is to stress exploration and enjoyment through a positive and satisfying art experience for all the children involved.” stated Ms. Nellen.
