Hubbard Street Dance Chicago

Currently celebrating its 40th anniversary and now under the artistic direction of Glen Edgerton, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago combines explosive energy, theatrical jazz and the technique of classical ballet into a style uniquely its own.
The toast of the Chicago dance scene, the company’s repertoire reads like a “who’s who” of today’s major choreographers, including Nacho Duato, Jiři Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Twyla Tharp, and its current resident choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo. But Edgerton has added significant new voices such as Mats Ek, Sharon Eyal, and Alonzo King, as well as continuing its collaboration with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Their McCarter program includes works by William Forsythe, Robyn Mineko Williams, Nacho Duato, Alejandro Cerrudo, and Crystal Pite.
The 2017-2018 Dance Series is sponsored by The Jerome Robbins Foundation. |
