Dr. Jude Pfister, Chief of Cultural Resources at Morristown National Historical Park, discovered a 1693 manuscript of La Giuditta, opera/oratorio by the great Baroque composer Alessandro Scarlatti.
Maestro Robert W. Butts, Conductor of The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, edited the manuscript and conducted the first modern-day performance of the complete work in New York City.
A special encore performance was presented at Washington's Headquarters Museum on May 1, 2016.
This film is the story of that discovery and performance.
Washington's Headquarters Museum Auditorium is at #1 on map above.
