Written in 1959, this one-act play by the late Edward Albee takes place in a "Whites Only" hospital in Memphis, Tennessee on the night that the famous blues singer, Bessie Smith, was killed in a car wreck. A disturbing and provocative play that feels all too timely.

This reading contains adult content and language, and is not recommended for young people under the age of 16.
