Wendy Lane Bailey brings her unique blend of song and storytelling to Ridgewood, NJ.

As a singer, Wendy Lane fuses elements of pop, jazz, country, folk, and musical theatre into a sound that is lush and romantic yet thoroughly contemporary; she makes the old sound new and the new sound timeless.  Her eclectic song selection, including writers like Leonard Cohen, Gretchen Peters, Cole Porter, Michele Brourman, Jerome Kern and June Carter Cash, are interspersed with funny and touching stories of her eccentric Southern family and their hometown of Hot Coffee, MS.

The choice of a dance studio as venue was not accidental says Bailey, “I spent most of my life believing that I had two left feet—but secretly wished I could dance.  I'd try to convince myself that being a singer, writer and actress was enough, but that desire to move gracefully across the floor just wouldn't go away. So I started taking classes here—in this very space.  And realized that I could dance—if I really worked at it. It’s given me new ways of relating to the music.”

Joining Ms. Bailey as she sings, tells stories, and dances backwards in high heels,  will be longtime collaborator Rick Jensen on piano.
