Widely regarded as a founding figure in the modern world music movement, Zakir Hussain is a two-time Grammy winner and recipient of the National Heritage Fellowship of the National Endowment for the Arts, America's highest honor for traditional and folk artists. The son of legendary tabla player Ustad Allarakha and a descendant of a long line of master musicians, Hussain has devoted decades to becoming a performer whose "virtuosity is barely to be believed" (The Washington Post). Since the passing of Ravi Shankar, Hussain stands alone as India's greatest classical musician and artistic ambassador to the world.

Sitar maestro Niladri Kumar, blessed with the lineage of five generations of sitar players, made his first public performance at the age of 6. Today, he is hailed as a serious young exponent of Indian classical music, who endeavors to infuse interest and respect for this traditional form among the younger generation. His unique repertoire ranges from classical compositions on the sitar to innovative, electrifying renditions on the zitar, demonstrating an uncanny ability to strike an instant rapport with audiences of all ages.
